A video was made by the in-house filming department at Akon's label, Universal Music, for the Akon single \"Right Now (Na Na Na)\" in late 2005. It includes footage of Akon recording vocals for a song in the booth and then going to a nightclub to perform. But this was apparently scrapped as the official video was filmed months later and eventually released. The video for \"Right Now (Na Na Na)\" premiered on MTV on August 19, 2008 and was released on DVD on September 23, 2008. \"Right Now (Na Na Na)\" was released in Australia as the first single from Freedom on November 14, 2008. The music video is ten minutes long and the video starts off with Akon sleeping in the bed wearing a gun on his waist. In the video, Akon, who is completely dressed, takes a bath, gets changed and uses the toilet. When he is called to the phone, he is given the order to shoot the phone and then he does so. Akon then dresses up and goes into his car. As he drives off, he is heard saying, \"I'm in the club, I'm in the club, I'm in the club.\" He is then seen in the club where several dancers are seen performing. The video ends with the house lights dimming down and Akon sitting up in bed while singing the chorus. The video was directed by Benny Boom, who also directed videos for \"Smack That\" and \"Lonely Girl\" by Mariah Carey. In December, Akon announced that a music video for the song \"Wrong Side, Right Time\" was in the works and the music video premiered on February 22, 2009 on MTV. A trailer was released on January 14, 2009. The song was taken from Akon's album \"Trouble of My Own\".
Akon said on Ask Akon that he started working on the album when his mentor, Jerry Duplessis, died of cancer in November 2007. Now, Akon said that he finished the album two days before Duplessis' passing. He then revealed to Ask Akon that he will write lyrics come and go and said he wants the album to have 42 songs. He also said no ILL or former label mates will appear like they do on his previous albums. 7211a4ac4a
