I have this issue also. InDesign [CS4] begins to start up, the "initializing..." label appears, then it immediately quits. Started after I had to revert back to 10.7.3 from 10.7.4 due to frequent and incessant kernel panics in 7.4. I tried uninstalling all CS4 apps (using the CS4 uninstall tool), then ran Adobe Cleaner Tool, then did a clean install of CS4 (Design Premium), including a fresh input of the serial number. All other CS4 apps open normally.

I draw with the pencil and brush tool all the time and sometimes forget to close my paths. With this script, you can close all open or all selected open paths. This script comes in handy when creating illustrations for stock illustration sites because of the vector requirements.

Heys guys i would like to ask you if you know some script which can renumber paths.I have a problem that my laser cut path by path depend on their number. I would like to renumber it, for example regard to layer or idk right now.

Nowadays, customer can upgrade from Volume License to single-user license, but this is not really advisable unless you will take the burden of doing the Unlocking process everytime you will install the Upgrade version. Eventhough you have a valid previous qualifying version serial number, that serial number will not work because it is under the volume license program. So the last resort is to contact Adobe Customer Service to unlock your software so you will be able to activate it.

HelloAm using adobe cs3 installed on 10 computers on a network but when i mistakenly used adobe photoshop cs4 portable on one of the computers, the whole adobe cs3 suite got expired and its requesting for serial number. How do i activate it on this single computer?Thanks.

One thing that may go wrong is that you select multiple Anchor Points on at least one of the paths. This may happen if you have an extra Anchor Point (almost) coinciding with the end one and you ClickDrag over them or if the end one is beneath the other Anchor point in the order of the path. You may see whetheer the total number of Anchor Points is as expected for each path, and you may deselect and then Click the (presumed end Anchor Point, then move it a bit (with an arrow key or something) and see whether there is one underneath; you may then deletethe unwanted one or Ctrl/Cmd+Z to move it back.

Illustrator can import Inkscape SVG and export SVG which Inkscape usually opens without problems (there's one issue to be aware of). Conversely, Inkscape opens Adobe's AI (since version 9) and PDF files (with some limitations: gradient meshes are approximated by lattices of small paths, and transparency modes don't work). Inkscape can also export its documents as PDF.

To continue a path, select its endnode and duplicate it (Shift+D), then drag the new node. You can break the path at any selected node(s), or join two end nodes, using the correspondint toolbar buttons. You can edit the nodes of only one path object at a time, but that path object may consist of any number of distinct subpaths. Use the Break Apart and Combine commands to break a path into its subpaths and combine separate paths into a single path.

There's no brushes palette in Inkscape yet, but you can have an editable path with any brush path applied. Select the brush path (called pattern), copy it to clipboard, then select the path you will apply brush to (called skeleton), open Path Effects (Ctrl+Shift+7), select "Path along path", click Apply, select "Single, stretched", and click the Paste button to apply the pattern.

Meaning... names give things meaning. It does not make sense to use a name for a slice that is in no way related to what the slice is being used for. Just like with programming and development, typically it is a good idea to give variables, id's, and classes meaningful names related to their purpose, so it is with slices in a design file. For example, if you are creating a slice path for a submit button, then a meaningful name for that slice might be "submit" or "submit btn". Whatever you choose to name it, just be sure it is relative to the graphic that the slice is being used to cut out of the design. The reason this is important is because not only do some website design files contain tons of layers and graphics, but they will also need many slices in order to cut all the graphics out. Again, it is very difficult for someone else to open up the design file months later and figure out which slice goes to which graphic, and it only makes matters worse when there are 80 slice paths that are in no particular order, and they all have arbitrary names or even worse, they're all named "".

Depending on how you look at it, or rather how you use Illustrator, one downside can be that Illustrator allows for decimal measurements and placement of graphics. This can be a problem with web graphics because in HTML and CSS, there is no such thing as a .5 pixel. If you make a slice and its x-position on the Artboard is at 100.725 pixels and its width is 200.256 pixels, well that does not compute in HTML and CSS. In order to resolve that issue, Illustrator forces the slice to use whole numbers instead of decimals when it is saved out. You will see your slice path outline, and then a second outline showing the actual size and location of the slice. This second outline is Illustrator compensating for the decimal numbers, and it always rounds up and chooses the ceiling of the decimal number for width and height values. So if you have a slice path 200.256 pixels wide, Illustrator will make the actual size 201 pixels. Also, if the slice has an x-position or y-position that includes a decimal, Illustrator will force the positions to be whole numbers as well. Again, you will see your path outline and a second outline showing the actual location/size of the slice.

The Transform Panel also works well with slices. If you create a slice and you see the slice path and a second outline showing the actual size and location of the slice, then you already know that the slice dimensions are not whole numbers, or the slice x & y positions are not whole numbers, or all of the above. You can use the transform panel to size the slice correctly and put it in the exact place you need it. In the transform panel, choose the registration point that coincides with the top left corner. Once you have done that, you can set your x-position, y-position, width, and height to whole numbers and the slice will adjust accordingly. 2b1af7f3a8
